Blind cleaning Sydney venetian roller vertical blinds

Professional Blind Cleaning Services Across Sydney

Pro Clean Corp delivers professional blind cleaning services across Sydney, restoring venetian blinds, roller blinds, vertical blinds, and fabric window treatments to like-new condition through specialist on-site and ultrasonic cleaning methods. Blinds in offices and commercial premises accumulate dust, allergens, nicotine film, mould spores, and UV-degrading grime that regular dusting simply cannot remove — only deep cleaning restores them properly.

Our technicians use ultrasonic bath technology for hard slat blinds and specialist fabric-care processes for roller and fabric blinds, ensuring thorough deep cleaning without damage to materials or UV-protective coatings. Whether servicing a single office or an entire commercial building across Sydney, Pro Clean Corp provides a convenient collect-clean-rehang service or comprehensive on-site treatment. Pricing from $30/hr, no lock-in contracts, serving Sydney businesses since 2015.

Blind Types and What Each One Actually Needs

The word “blind” covers half a dozen constructions that fail in different ways, and a method that suits one will ruin another. What follows is what we do to each, and why.

Aluminium venetian blinds

The classic ultrasonic candidate. Dust bonds to the slat with airborne grease — in a kitchen, a staff room or anywhere near a road — and wiping it just moves the film around and bends slats. In the tank, cavitation lifts the film off both faces and out of the ladder-cord holes at once, with no mechanical pressure on the slat. Aluminium takes this well. Expect the original colour back rather than a cleaner version of grey.

Timber and faux-wood venetians

Real timber does not go in a tank. Prolonged immersion swells the slat, lifts the lacquer and can warp a whole stack, so timber venetians are cleaned by hand, slat by slat, with a barely-damp microfibre and a wood-safe solution. Faux-wood is PVC and tolerates immersion, but the difference matters: if a supplier offers to ultrasonically clean your timber venetians, ask them what they think the slats are made of.

Roller blinds — sunscreen and blockout

These are two different fabrics in the same casing. Sunscreen is an open weave that traps dust in the mesh and responds well to a fabric-safe wet clean. Blockout carries a coating on the back face, and that coating is the entire point of the blind — too much heat or an alkaline cleaner delaminates it, leaving a blotchy finish that no second clean will fix. We clean blockout at controlled temperature with a pH-balanced solution for that reason, and we will say so in advance if a blind’s coating is already lifting.

Vertical blinds

The most common blind in Sydney offices and the one most often written off early. Vanes are usually a stiffened fabric that marks at the bottom where people brush past and at the top where the carrier clips sit. They come down as individual vanes, which makes them straightforward to clean flat and rehang — and it means a few damaged vanes can be replaced rather than the whole track.

Roman blinds and panel glides

Both are fabric on a mechanism, so the fabric is treated on its own terms and the hardware is kept dry. Roman blinds hold rods in sewn pockets that have to come out first; panel glides run on a track that needs the carriers cleaned separately or the panels bind afterwards. Neither is a tank job.

Ultrasonic or On-Site — Which One Your Blinds Need

Ultrasonic cleaning is a tank of solution driven at high frequency. The bubbles it forms collapse against the blind and strip contamination out of places a cloth cannot reach — the crimps around ladder cords, the inside of a headrail, the gaps between slats. It is the best available method for hard-slat blinds, and it is the wrong method for anything made of timber, anything with a glued or laminated fabric, and anything whose mechanism cannot be separated from the material.

On-site cleaning means we work at your premises rather than taking the blinds away. It suits large commercial installations — a full office floor, a hotel, a building where several hundred blinds would take a week to cycle through a workshop — and it suits any site where bare windows for a few days is not acceptable. The trade-off is honest: on-site is gentler and faster to turn around, but it will not lift heavy embedded grease the way a tank will.

We tell you which one applies when we look at the blinds, not before. If a site has both — aluminium venetians in the kitchen and roller blinds through the offices — the two are usually handled by different methods on the same job.

How Collect, Clean and Rehang Works

We take the blinds down, label every one to its window, transport them, clean them and refit them. Standard turnaround is 2–5 business days depending on quantity and how heavily soiled they are. Labelling is not a detail — an office with forty near-identical roller blinds cut to different widths is a genuinely bad afternoon if nobody wrote down which window each one came from.

Removal and refitting are ours, not yours. Where bare windows for several days is a problem — a ground-floor office, a consulting room, a west-facing space in summer — we either stage the job in sections so only part of the floor is uncovered at a time, or clean on site instead.

Blinds and curtains in the same room are usually done together, since both come down and go back on the same visit. Our curtain work is described on the curtain cleaning page.

What Cleaning Will Not Fix

Worth saying plainly, because it is cheaper to know before you pay for a clean. Cleaning does not straighten bent aluminium slats — it often makes existing bends more obvious once the dust is gone. It does not restore a blockout coating that has already delaminated and gone patchy. It does not reverse sun rot, where years of direct western light have made the fabric brittle; those blinds sometimes tear during removal, and we will flag them before touching them. It does not repair perished cords or a slipping mechanism, though we will tell you what we find.

Mould is the one that depends. Surface growth on fabric comes off and we treat the material to slow regrowth. Mould that has been sitting long enough to stain the fibre leaves a permanent shadow. We inspect and tell you which one you have before any work starts, so the decision to clean or replace is made with the facts.

Where We Work

Crews cover Greater Sydney — the CBD and inner city, the North Shore and Chatswood, Parramatta and Western Sydney, the Eastern Suburbs, and the south and south-west. For on-site work we come to the premises; for collect-and-rehang we handle both trips. If you are searching for blind cleaning near you and you are inside Greater Sydney, the answer is yes, and the quote is free either way.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of blinds do you clean?

We clean all blind types including aluminium venetian blinds, timber venetians, faux-wood venetians, roller blinds (sunscreen, blockout, and fabric), vertical blinds, Roman blinds, and panel glide systems. Both commercial office premises and residential properties across Sydney are serviced.

What is ultrasonic blind cleaning and how does it work?

Ultrasonic cleaning uses high-frequency sound waves transmitted through a water bath to create microscopic bubbles that implode on contact with the blind surface. This process dislodges and removes embedded dust, grime, nicotine, grease, and allergens from every crevice of the slats without physical scrubbing that could cause damage to slats or coatings.

Do you offer on-site blind cleaning or do you take them away?

We offer both. For large commercial installations such as office floors or hotels, we can perform on-site cleaning using specialist equipment. For most standard jobs, we provide a convenient collect-clean-rehang service where we remove the blinds, transport them to our facility, and return them cleaned and refit within 2–5 business days.

Will cleaning damage the UV protection on my blinds?

No. Our cleaning processes are specifically designed to preserve UV-blocking and light-filtering coatings on roller and fabric blinds. We use pH-balanced, fabric-safe cleaning solutions and controlled-temperature processes that clean thoroughly without degrading protective treatments or reducing light-filtering performance.

Can you remove mould from fabric blinds?

Yes. We apply specialist anti-mould treatments during the cleaning process to remove existing mould growth from fabric blinds and inhibit regrowth. Severely mould-damaged blinds may have permanent staining, but we will advise you on expected outcomes during our initial inspection before any work commences.

How long does blind cleaning take?

Collect-clean-rehang runs 2–5 business days from pickup to refit, depending on quantity and how heavily soiled the blinds are. On-site cleaning is same-day for most offices — the blinds stay at the window and there is no turnaround at all. We confirm the timeframe in the written quote before the job is booked.

Can you clean blinds in an occupied office without disrupting work?

Yes. Most commercial blind work is done after hours or on weekends so nobody is working around it. Where a job has to happen during the day, we stage it section by section so only part of a floor has bare windows at any point rather than the whole level at once.

Can you clean curtains and blinds at the same time?

Yes, and it is usually the sensible way to do a room — both come down and go back on the same visit, so you pay for one set of trips rather than two. Curtains are cleaned on the rod where suitable, or taken away with the blinds.

Do you clean timber venetian blinds ultrasonically?

No. Prolonged immersion swells timber slats and lifts the lacquer, so real timber venetians are cleaned by hand with a wood-safe solution and a barely-damp cloth. Faux-wood venetians are PVC and can be tank-cleaned safely. We identify which you have at inspection.

How much does professional blind cleaning cost in Sydney?

Blind cleaning pricing depends on blind type, quantity, and level of soiling. As a guide, pricing starts from $30/hr or $80 per session for small installations. We provide a free written quote within 24 hours. Call 1300 494 983 or enquire online for Sydney-wide blind cleaning.
